CEN is hosting a timely webinar to explore clean tech opportunities in South Africa and opportunities to directly engage with entrepreneurs on the ground there. COP17, the next big global climate conference, will be happening this year in Durban from Nov. 28 – Dec. 9.
In the run up to the convention, the South African government is organizing a Clean Tech Competition for local startup companies and small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs). South Africa entrepreneurs and innovators have been challenged to stimulate economic growth by submitting the clean tech solutions that will lead to job creation, the delivery of improved products, and the introduction of new services.
We invite you to join our panel of experts who will not only provide an analysis of the clean tech sector in South Africa, but also explain an exciting opportunity to become a mentor and supporter of the semi-finalists of the competition.
The South Africa Clean Tech Competition has been designed similarly to the successful Clean Tech Open in the United States, offering three categories: Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, and Green Buildings.  Up to forty semi-finalists will receive training and mentoring by industry leaders and five finalists selected will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas at COP17.
The winners will be revealed on December 8th in Durban.  Learn how you can get involved with the competition and steer the competitors to the finals!  Learn also about opportunities to support innovation in South Africa in 2012 and beyond.
