Expanded Constituency Workshops keep the GEF National Focal Points, Convention Focal Points and other key stakeholders, including civil society, up to date on GEF strategies, policies and procedures and to encourage coordination. The events enable focal points to meet with their counterparts from other countries in the region. They also allow other GEF partners, especially GEF Agencies, to discuss and review policies and procedures and to share experiences from GEF projects and their integration within national policy frameworks.  

Prior to attending the ECW, please complete the free eCourse : Introduction to the GEF 

This is available through the GEF Academy and provides an overview of the GEF.

By completing the course, you will gain knowledge of the GEF’s mission, history and institutional structure. You will understand the organizing principles and areas of work in the 7^th GEF replenishment period (GEF-7). You will also learn about key cross cutting issues; the basics of GEF funding and its operational policies, as well as the results framework for GEF-7.​ 

The E-course has 5 topical sections, each with short quizzes on what you have learned, and requires approximately 90 minutes to complete in one sitting; but you can also take it at your own pace. You will receive a certificate upon completion. 

LOCAL LOGISTICS

Transportation on Tuesday and Wednesday for participants staying at the Radisson Park Inn:

Busses will depart the Radisson Park Inn at 8:00 AM and 8:10 AM and go to the Marriott. These two hotels are very close so the bus ride should  only be about 5 minutes.

Transportation on Thursday for the Site Visit and Knowledge Day

Busses will depart from the Marriott and The Radisson Park Inn at 8:30 AM.  We will visit a number of GEF SGP sites and return for lunch at 1:00 pm for lunch.  There will an optional city and museum tour in the afternoon.  We will provide further details during the ECW.

On Friday we will be at the Kigali Convention Center.  Busses will depart from the Marriott and the Radisson Park Inn at 8:00 AM and 8:10 AM and go to the Kigali Convention Center
