AMR 2007-2010
Portfolio outcome monitoring occur on an annual basis to track progress in reaching intended outcomes. The Annual Monitoring Review (AMR), the principal reporting tool, provides an annual snapshot of the overall state of the GEF’s active portfolio.

- Guidelines for partner input to the AMR are available in the 2009 AMR Guidelines.
- AMR 2008
- AMR 2007
The AMR is based on individual Project Implementation Reports (PIRs) submitted by each partner agency. All full- and medium-size GEF projects under implementation are required to submit a PIR yearly.
Portfolio Monitoring: In an effort to develop methods to aggregate outcomes at the portfolio level, portfolio monitoring tools aid in rolling up indicators from the individual project level to the portfolio level.
Performance in Focal Areas: Partner agencies track progress and results with these tools, which are important learning and accountability tools. Tracking tools for each Focal Area can be found here.
Portfolio Process Monitoring: Process monitoring, a useful management tool, tracks efficiency and effectiveness and assesses whether the portfolio is being implemented as intended, set standards are being met, and resources are being used efficiently.
The GEF tracks specific outcome level indicators and reports results in the AMR.
