In GEF-5, all eligible parties will have direct access to GEF resources, up to US$250,000, to finance activities related to the review and updating of the national implementation plans (NIP) to include the nine new chemicals added to the Stockholm Convention at COP 4 of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants as per their obligations under Article 7 of the Convention.

How to Apply

To request support for enabling activities to prepare national communications through the Direct Access option, countries will use the template below to submit a proposal that includes a detailed description of the activities that will be carried out as well as their expected cost.

NB: Applications must be submitted to GEF Secretariat via email (GEF-DA-Chemicals@thegef.org) by the GEF Operational Focal Point.
