This Project is part of the GEF-4 Low Greenhouse Gas Emissions (LGGE) programmatic framework to promote efficiency in the building sector. The project will promote and facilitate the widespread application of building energy efficiency technologies and practices in commercial buildings in Thailand.

The project supports Government of Thailand efforts to reduce GHG emissions from the fast growing commercial building sector in line with the 4-year National Climate Change Strategies of Thailand (2008-2012).

The project consists of 3 components.
1. Awareness Enhancement on Building EE Technologies and Practices
2. EE Building Policy Frameworks
3. EE Building Technologies and Applications Demonstrations

The investment portion of component 3 is $5 million provided by co-financing.

The project will result in 23.3 kton of direct CO2 emission reductions and 72.6 kton of direct post project reductions. Indirect CO2 emission reductions are 69.8 kton (bottom up) or 1,630 kton (top-down).
