This project will promote improved policy for energy efficiency and launch financial mechanisms to help encourage consumers to replace old inefficient lamps.

The project consists of four components.
1. Energy Efficiency Policy Enhancement
2. Technology and Standards - CFLs Quality Improvement
3. Generation of demand for CFL through applicable consumer financing and, as applicable, financial support schemes
4. Information, Consumers' Education, and Awareness Raising

The electric utility Office National de l'Electricite [ONE] is a strong partner.

Direct reduction of GHG emissions are estimated to be 2.74 MtCO2e by 2021. This is equivalent to an approximate unit abatement cost of $ 0.32/ton of CO2e over the lifespan of the disseminated CFLs. An additional 1.45 MtCO2e in post project reductions. Indirect emissions reductions are estimated to be up to 10.17 MTCO2e by the end of 2024.
