The project focuses on expanding Mexico's wind generation capacity by enabling local development and implementation of wind turbines technologies particularly for distributed generation. The project will have 4 main components:

1. Design and specification of wind turbine components

2. Procurement, manufacturing and assembly of the wind turbine components

3. Erection, start up and operational testing of the wind turbine

4. Capacity building and institutional strengthening to promote a wind power market through distributed generation by small power producers.

The project is estimated to avoid direct emissions of 47 ktonnes of CO2e.
