IMPORTANT NOTICE

  1. When sending projects and project-related communications to GEFSEC, please send them always to our institutional registry at gcoordination@thegef.org. with copy to the Program Manager concerned. Always append the corresponding focal area prefix in the subject heading to ensure that your email is easily identifiable by our Program Assistants.
The focal area prefixes are BD for Biodiversity, CC for Climate Change, IW for International Waters, OZ for Ozone, POP for Persistent Organic Pollutants, LD for Land Degradation, MFA(OP12) or MFA(Others) for Multifocal Area and CD for Capacity Development.

  2. Please call the attention of the Program Coordination Registry immediately if projects that you have submitted for the week have not been acknowledged in the subsequent Weekly Program Management Bulletin. This is to ensure that your project submission is accounted for.

  3. It is a standard and mandatory practice to circulate your project proposals to the GEF Secretariat, all GEF Agencies, relevant Convention Secretariat and STAP.

  4. Updated GEF Secretariat Contacts can be found at http://www.thegef.org/gef/gef_staff.

  5. Visit the Country Profile page at http://www.gefonline.org/Country/CountryProfile.cfm to know each country’s STAR allocation and utilization.

  6. For intersessional work programs (IWP),we will assess the cleared PIFs around the first week of each month to see if we can constitute a work program following the criteria set for an IWP (i.e., 10 or more cleared PIFs or cleared PIFs to a value greater than $50M). All PIFs that have been cleared as of this period will be candidates for inclusion in the current and subsequent IWPs.
