| Description | These funds are requested to undertake additional activities to fulfill the commitments under the UNFCCC. These interim funds are also requested to help maintain and enhance the capacity of Sri Lankan institutions and experts in anticipation of preparing the Second National Communication on Climate Change in the future. In addition, these activities will help to ensure the continuity of enabling activities as (i) the proposed phase II project will take direction from results of the First National Communication, and (ii) the proposed activities will extend the current knowledge and help to integrate climate change concerns in the country’s planning process. |
| Implementation Status | The project is operationally closed. A publication titled “Climate Change in Sri Lanka: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability”, based on the results of all research studies carried out has been prepared in draft and is in the process of being finalized. |
