| Description | The global environment objective is to contribute to improving the economic attractiveness of solar thermal technology globally. The project will create global learning effects that will lead to a reduction in costs for the technology over the long term. |
| Implementation Status | A PDF-B ($300,000) was approved on May 21, 1998. The project is being prepared and the incremental costs has been estimated at $49.8 million, with a solar share of 30 MW. Consultants have been retained, technical work is completed and the prequalification process has started. JB1C has pledged US$97 million equivalent for the financing of the conventional part of the plant and the project management contract that will oversee the integration and performance aspects of the hybrid project. Procurement documents are under preparation. |
