| Description | The proposed project is aimed at improving the conservation of biodiversity in the Greater Addo National Park. The project would specifically support activities to: (a) identify and protect areas of unique biodiversity inder threat; (b) identify the minimum area required to maintain ecological patterns and processes; (c ) reduce critical threats facing the park; (d) develop and implement a conservation plan; (e) promote sustainable ecotourism; and (f) promote capacity building in local communities to develop environmntally acceptable economic activities. |
| Implementation Status | The project has become effective as of June 2004 and the implementation plans are going on. A supervision mission in September 18-22, 2004 has been planned to provide support to SANParks implementation of the resettlement action plans. The mission will review the current resettlement action plans, and progress made on implementation. In addition the Mission will review the recently received updated action plan. |
