| Description | Formulate strategy and action plan for conservation and sustainable use of Albania's biodiversity. The principal product will be a BSAP. A clearinghouse mechanism was approved and added in 8/99. |
| Implementation Status | The Enabling Activity for biodiversity is completed. However, a CHM for $14000 was also granted for which CEO clearance was obtained on 8/12/99, but was not used. An audit is currently going on, which was requested by the CU, and it cannot be closed until they reconcile the accounts. The country plans to apply for a Phase II enabling activity in FY01. Phase I National Report (Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan) was published in November 1999. With the final disbursement made on 12/3/99 of US$19,130.11, the Grant Account has been closed as of 12/31/1999. Strategy Report issued November 1999 and a copy was received. |
