The biomass options that will be advanced under this project include: Anaerobic biomass digestors for dung, household sewage, and related high-moisture feedstocks; anaerobic biomass digestors for leafy feedstocks including agricultural residues, biomass densification (briquetting, pelletization) for rural enterprise and household applications; eficient biomass stoves, furnaces and dryers for rural enterprise, and household applications; and biomass gasification for production of fuel gas for process heat, shaft power, pumping and electricity.
Implementation Status11/5/04 email from Yannick Glemarec: The concept was approved on July 19, 2001. The PDF B brief was approved by the GEFSec in June 2003 and the DoA and project document for implementation were sent to the CO in September 2003.  Since then the project has been on hold due to some institutional problems, but based on the latest information received from the country office, these issues have been clarified and the project is expected to move ahead. It should thus remain in the GEF pipeline.
