| Description | The objective of this Enabling Activity (EA) is to create sustainable capacity and ownership in Sudan to meet the country’s obligations under the Stockholm Convention, including preparation of a POPs National Implementation Plan (NIP). The NIP will describe how Sudan will meet its obligations under the Convention to phase-out POPs sources and manage POPs-contaminated sites in an environmentally sound manner. By facilitating dialogue, information exchange and co-operation between relevant stakeholders - including the governmental, non-governmental, academic and private sectors - the EA will ensure that POPs are better taken into account in planning and strategy formulation for different economic and technical sectors. |
