| Description | See description of Tranch 1 (PMIS 1224). |
| Implementation Status | In 2007 the Memoranda between TSBF-CIAT as the executing agency and the executing institutions of the country project component in India, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil, Kenya and Uganda have been signed. The last one to be signed was with the executing institution of the CPC in Ivory Coast, but this only was done in October. The MoAs detail the management and implementation structure of the country project components and in some CPC major changes in the structure have been implemented (Kenya, Uganda, Ivory Coast). It further details a detailed workplan and budget for the CPC as well as the Monitoring and Evaluation plan for each of the CPC. The workplan details the plans for the demonstration and experimentation to be carried out during Tranche II after sometimes intensive discussions between the CPC and the GCO. Demonstration and experimentation plots have been established in India and Indonesia, and Mexico and preparations have been made in Brazil, Kenya and Ivory Coast. Uganda published their BGBD review in the African Journal of Ecology and publications on the results of the inventory have appeared. As for the reports on the inventory, contributions from all the CPCs have been received and have been revised when necessary, with the editing of the volumes being in progress. The editing of the methods manual (methods for the inventory of BGBD) is in a very advanced stage. Inventory of actual data available within the CPCs on the inventory was completed and data related to the inventory transferred to the GCO for further analyses for the synthesis reporting. Data and information on the actual methods used for the inventory was complied as well. Internal reports with preliminary results of the (statistical) analyses for the synthesis of the inventory for some of the functional groups (Earthworms, Ants, Termites and Arbuscual Mycorrhizal Fungi) were issued and will be used for further discussion on the synthesis reporting. Because of inconsistencies in the application of the methods, integrated analyses of the inventory data is not possible and consequences for the synthesis reporting needs to be discussed. |
