| Description | The overall objective of the Clearing House Mechanism is to increase public awareness of biodiversity issues, which ultimately leads to effective and sound decision-makings of the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity at all levels. From the time Fiji became a partly to the CBD, information dissemination was carried out on an ad hoc basis with no formal mechanism in place to ensure all relevant stakeholders receive this information through a centralized CHM, filtering this information right down to the grassroots levels promoting a better understanding of biodiversity and in particular the programmes and obligations set out under the CBD. |
| Implementation Status | The Fiji Add-on project is currently under revision and a UNDP project document is yet to be produced. The project revision is being undertaken by the Government in consultation with UNDP-Fiji to add new activities on revision of original NBSAP should be added at the level of activities/outputs. It has been agreed that the original approved budget will be maintained. |
