| Description | The project will enable Swaziland to prepare its first National Communication to the Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The components of the project consist of: (a) an inventory of greenhouse gases following the guidelines adopted by the CoP; (b) an assessment of potential impacts of climate change in Swaziland; (c) an analysis of potential measures to abate the increase in greenhouse gas emissions in Swaziland and to adapt to climate change; (d) preparation of a national action plan to address climate change and its adverse impacts; and (e) preparation of the first National Communication of Swaziland to the CoP. Beside the preparation of the National Communication, the project is expected to enhance general awareness and knowledge on climate change related issues in Swaziland. |
| Implementation Status | A Climate Change Information Kit for a Non-scientific Audience has since been produced as part of the awareness-raising activities for this project. This project will be closed by the end of 2005. The SNC proposal is under development. |
