| Description | The general objective of the proposed project is to mitigate GHG emissions by promoting a sustainable urban transport system in Metropolitan Managua, by means of modal shifts to public and non-motorized transport. The GEF intervention will support the implementation of a more environmentally sustainable transport system in Metropolitan Managua and its replication in provincial cities. |
| Implementation Status | The only activity that took place this last quarter fell under the component of legal framework. The work done by the international expert provided the basic structure with which to formulate a new and solid transportation law and business esqueme. Furthermore, this legal framework sets the stage for the dialogue and negotiation on this subject. This framework is of great importance because of the lack of such a framework in the world of local legal experience and know how. |
