| Description | This project is consistent with the GEF Operational Strategy and the GEF Operational Strategy and the GEF Operational Criteria for Enabling Activities to provide coordinated and timely assistance to countries to fulfill their commitments to the UNFCCC. The project responds to such objectives by implementing an activity needed to enable Gambia to prepare its first national communication to the Conference of the Parties. |
| Implementation Status | The activities are proceeding satisfactorily after some standby observed by the project manager because of a misunderstanding about the execution process. The National Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan Development and the Initial National Communication will be finalized to meet the dead line for submission to GEFSEC and the COP 2000 in Netherlands.(sd/mam26June00). |
