| Description | To develop and pilot a range of coping mechanisms for reducing the vulnerability of farmers and pastoralists to future climate shocks. |
| Implementation Status | The CEO approved this project in Dec 2006. Since then the UNDP Project Document has been created, approved by the Local Project Advisory Committee and the Delegation of Authority (DOA) has been issued. The DOA is currently in the process of being signed by the UNDP Resident Representative and Government Counterpart. The national executing entity has officially also changed from the Meteorological Department to the Ministry of Agriculture (MOARD) in Ethiopia. It is anticipated that the inception meeting will be held before the end of the year or as soon as the project team is hired and in place. |
