| Description | To develop and pilot a range of coping mechanisms for reducing the vulnerability of farmers and pastoralists to future climate shocks. |
| Implementation Status | The CEO approved this project in Dec 2006. Since then the UNDP Project Document has been created, and the Delegation of Authority (DOA) has been issued. The DOA is currently in the process of being signed by the UNDP RR and Government Counterpart. It is anticipated that the inception meeting for this project will be held before the end of the year. Negotiations are underway for the project to be integrated with activities coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture, a key collaborating partner for mainstreaming climate change risks into food security programmes. The inception meeting is expected to be held in the 4th quarter of 2007 or as soon as the ongoing process of selecting the project team is completed. |
