Description	This project will assist the national Government to comply with the provisions of the UNFCCC.
Implementation Status	Since July 2003, the studies on GHG emission factors have been finalized especially for the industrial and gas sectors. An assessment of climate observation networks capacities for regional and international observation network integration and a technology transfer needs to face climate change have also been conducted Three workshops on each of the above mentioned fields were held on 21 and 21 October 2003. More than 50 participants from key sectors and other experts have attended. A review and update of the national GHG inventory and the initial communication have been conducted and were finalized by end of December. Over the upcoming period, the Ministry of environment would request the preparation of the first national communication for GEF support.
