| Description | The main objective is to assist the Republic of Moldova in implementing commitments under the Convention on Biological Diversity through the completion of a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP), which will improve protection and sustainable use of Moldovan biodiversity. |
| Implementation Status | First phase of activities was completed and a BSAP and National Report which was endorsed by Government on 9/20/00. The Report to be published as soon as its translation into English is completed. A CHM in the amount of US$10,000 was approved in 1999 and was used to build the MoE and Territorial Development's capacity to use software, hardware, e-mail and Internet, and to have access to biodiversity information not otherwise available in the Republic of Moldova. Extension of closing date was approved on 4/30/01. |
