| Description | This project aims at conservation planning and research outreach programs for the Belovezhskaya Forest, Berezinsky and Pripiatsky Reserves. It complements the Poland Forest Biodiversity project. |
| Implementation Status | Project closed 6/97. Professional development & training activities have been especially successful, which will contribute to the sustainability of the project benefits. The Belarussians are developing their program in international cooperation based in part on the results of this project. The results of the applied field studies, the proposal for expansion of the Belovezhskaya National Park, and the management plan for the National Park have been published in a final project document. Progress has been made on implementing the major management actions, although implementation of resource management action plans such as those developed under the project will continue over the next 5-10 years. ICR was produced 6/11/98. |
