| Description | The project will support the development and implementation of policies, plans and regulations that ensure that economic development in the Red Sea is consistent with sound environmental management to protect the shared marine resources of the Red Sea coastal zone. Project components include institutional strengthening, development of public-private partnerships to ensure sustainable environmental management, data analysis and system monitoring. |
| Implementation Status | The last supervision mission took place in October 2001: (a) the construction of the International Visitors Center has been completed on October 15, 2001; and (b) the construction of EEAA Regional Office is expected to be completed by May 2002. The project is due to close on June 30, 2002 and is likely to achieve all its objectives. |
