| Description | The project seeks to conserve giodiversity of global significance in Yemen through the protection, maintenance and enhancement of forest ecosystems in arid and semi-arid mountainous areas by promoting sustainable, community-based management of two selected forest ecosystems and by developing replicable systems for preserving biodiversity in Yemen. |
| Implementation Status | The management plan are in the final stages of preparation and they will be reviewed by the project team and by the Bank in May 2005. The closing date has been extended for six months until June 30, 3005 in order to insure the outstanding issues are addressed and that the activity is satisfactorily completed. |
