The GEF-4 funding period began in November 2006. Thirty-two donor countries pledged $3.13 billion to the fourth GEF Replenishment, which funded operations until June 30, 2010.

The 32 donors to the fourth replenishment were Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
