Diego has more than seven years of experience in public policy and project management. Before joining the Global Environment Faciliy (GEF) as a Special Assistant to the CEO, Diego was Deputy Director of Subnational Public Finance within the Colombian Ministry of Planning. At this position he designed a succesful knowledge online platform for the 1132 local governments of Colombia. Previously, he worked at the NYU Marron Institute of Urban Management as a researcher for the Urban Expansion Program.
Earlier in his carrier, Diego worked at the Executive Office of the President of Colombia, first as a Financial Analyst and later as a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist for the social policy branch. He also worked at the Bogota City Hall and the Colombian National Agency for Poverty Allevation.
Diego holds a B.A. in Government and International Relations and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from New York University (NYU).
