Dustin S. Schinn is a Climate Change Specialist in the GEF’s Programs Unit, where he focuses on climate change adaptation initiatives under the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF). Since the adoption of the Paris Agreement, Dustin also worked to establish and operationalize the Capacity-building Initiative on Transparency (CBIT) to strengthen institutional and technical capacities of developing countries to meet the enhanced transparency requirements of the agreement. Prior to joining the GEF, Dustin worked at the Green Climate Fund, where he provided general management support, coordinated experts on the development of the GCF’s business model framework and advised and assisted the senior manager on Board document preparation. He also has experience at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in New York, USA, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute on Barro Colorado Island, Panama, and the Northern Rivers Institute in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. Mr. Schinn holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Potsdam, Germany, and a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University. He co-authored articles in soil science, hydrology and climate change governance.
