The Cameroon GEF Dialogue took place over a period of 2 days at the Mvog-Betsi Botanical Garden in Yaounde. It brought together 117 participants representing the Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection, a number of sector ministries, regional representatives, NGOs, academic and research institutions, private sector, donor agencies, GEF project representatives, GEF Secretariat and Agencies. The planning and organization of the Dialogue served to highlight the integration and impact of GEF Activities within national sustainable development and poverty reduction policies.
Dialogue objectives included:
- Assess the lessons learnt and outcomes and impact of GEF activities with national stakeholders and drawing upon the ongoing GEF Country Portfolio Evaluation
- Agree upon the framework and priorities for future GEF support, based upon lessons learnt and sustainable development priorities
- Improve communications and coordination among national stakeholders on GEF related issues

National stakeholders discussed Cameroon's GEF project experiences and lessons learned and participated actively in working groups to identify and prioritize ideas for future GEF projects in Cameroon in the areas of Biodiversity, Desertification, POPs, and Climate Change.
