What if the missing ingredient in food systems transformation wasn’t just a better policy or funding, but a shift in consciousness?

The Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA), convened by UNDP, brings together over 500 members and 3,000 supporters worldwide to explore how inner development, such as emotional resilience, mindfulness, and values-based leadership can unlock systemic changes in food and agriculture. Since its launch in late 2022, CoFSA has helped shape a new narrative and field of practice, turning the idea of “conscious food systems” into a growing global movement.

This session offered a reflective and interactive space to explore how inner transformation connects to food systems transformation. It featured a meditation on our food, a presentation of CoFSA’s journey, and examples of how members have integrated inner capacities into policy, practice, and community initiatives. The discussion provided an opportunity to reconnect with the “why” behind food systems work and discover emerging pathways to act from a deeper place of intention, regeneration, and collaboration. The discussion also touched on the upcoming Global Conscious Food Systems Summit, to be co-hosted with the Government of Bhutan in 2026.
