The Honduras Dialogue took place over a period of 3 days (including a field visit to a GEF project). It convened 120 participants representing government, NGOs, CBOs, research and academic institutions, private sector, donors, GEFSec and GEF Agencies.
The planning and organization of the Dialogue served to build capacity, facilitate information and knowledge exchange, and promote coordination around GEF-related matters, for the environment ministry and the GEF and convention focal points, other line ministries, as well as for the local GEF Agency offices and other donor agencies.
The key outputs achieved by the Honduras Dialogues included the following:
- It provided a first time convening of Convention Focal Points together with the GEF Focal Point to identify national priorities
- It provided a first time convening of development donors alongside GEF Agencies to discuss environment and development strategies
- It led to the validation of proposed new priorities for GEF co-financing in biodiversity, climate change, and land degradation
