International donors disburse more than $200 billion in development assistance yearly, but how can we ensure this funding delivers maximum impact?

Instiglio is a Global South-based nonprofit organization that supports governments, donors, and multilateral agencies in using results-based approaches to maximize the impact of their funding. Over the past decade, Instiglio has partnered with bilateral and multilateral donors such as the Millennium Challenge Corporation, The Global Fund, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, SECO, and USAID to incorporate results-based approaches into their work.

On October 24, 2024, the Global Environment Facility hosted a discussion with Instiglio to dive into learnings from these experiences and potential solutions to reshape the rules of scale funding to be more results-oriented. The discussion also highlighted Instiglio’s growing work with partners on increasing the effectiveness of climate funding, focusing on how donors are leveraging innovative approaches and mechanisms to catalyze the impact of climate finance through pull finance tools such as advance market commitments and volume guarantees.
