The overall objective of the workshop is to engage with key stakeholders and to increase awareness on the latest GEF programs and policies. The workshop will share GEF experiences and lessons from programs piloting integration in the past, help increase knowledge, as well as build capacities on proposed interventions to achieve impact at scale. Specific objectives include:
- Providing baseline information on efforts funded by the GEF family of funds (GEF Trust Fund, GBFF, LDCF, SGP)
- Disseminate the GEF's integrated approach programming aimed at maximizing impactful outcomes at scale
- Exchange lessons learned on cross-cutting themes leading to successful implementation of gender, stakeholder engagement, and private sector involvement
- Engage one-on-one with countries to discuss their interests and adaptively managing their GEF portfolios.
Participants include GEF focal points, Convention focal points for the UNFCCC, UNCBD, UNCCD, Stockholm Convention, and Minamata Convention. Also invited are representatives of civil society, youth, Indigenous Peoples, and GEF Agencies.
This ECW will take place over four days with one full day dedicated to a field visit.
