DescriptionThis Project will protect critical sites for marine biological diversity, including coral reefs, mangroves and seagrass areas, within the core zones of large multiple-use marine protected areas (MPAs) in the Aleipata And Safata Districts of Upolu Island. It will demonstrate a model and innovative district-level approach to community-based management and protection of marine biodiversity that has wider application in Samoa, the Pacific Islands region, and globally.
