At the GEF Assembly in Samarkand, representatives of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, women’s groups, and youth came together to share lessons from their lived experience and leadership that is turning environmental goals into realities that resonate and last. The Civil Society Forum, co-organized with the GEF CSO Network, Indigenous Peoples Advisory Group, and women’s and youth groups, reflected the Global Environment Facility’s commitment to a “whole of society” approach in the sprint to 2030 goals, with full partnership across project design, governance, and stewardship.
