“Team GEF” successfully finished the Climate Ride NYC – DC

September 26, 2013

David Rodgers, Sr. Energy Specialist, Franck Jesus, Sr. Climate Change Specialist and Karan Chouksey, Jr. Professional Associate of the GEF’s Climate Change team took part in the 5th annual Climate Ride NYC-DC 2013, which lasted for 5 days from September 21 until September 25.

Together, with other 200 bicyclists, they pedaled 300 miles from New York City to Washington DC to raise funds for more than 60 organizations working on environment, conservation, clean energy, sustainability, climate education and bicycle advocacy.

Their ride began at 9:30 am on Saturday, September 21, at The Space on N 3rd Street in Brooklyn, NY. On each day of the Climate Ride journey, they pedaled 60-70 miles and then attended green speaking events in the evenings along the route. At 2:40 PM on September 25, David Rodgers tweeted that “team the GEF has arrived in Downtown Washington DC on the Potomac. Riders make final push to US Capitol.”

Well done David, Franck and Karan. We look forward a new climate ride adventure for the next year!
