Support for the Implementation of the National Biosafety Framework

Project specific objectives are to assist the Czech Republic to:A. integrate and incorporate biosafety issues into the sectoral policies and strategies, as well as into cross-sectoral policy documents and their updating in line with development and new global commitments.B. amend the national regulatory regime in line with the Cartagena Protocol process, including the new COP/MOP decisions, and to better reflect national needs and priorities.C. improve the national system for handling requests, performing risk assessment, decision making and other administrative tasks.D. consolidate a functional national system for monitoring and enforcement.E. improve and extend a national system of public awareness, access to information, education and participation.
