CBSP: Strategic Program for Sustainable Forest Management in the Congo Basin
Project Summary
The objective of the Strategic Program is to strengthen sustainable management of forest ecosystems of the Congo Basin as a contribution to the conservation of the globally relevant biodiversity and ecosystem services, maintaining a solid foundation for the region’s sustainable development. This GEF-4 supported Strategic Program is structured along three main components, which relate to:(i)Conservation of ecosystem functions and values within the regional protected area network,(ii)Fostering of sustainable management and use of forest and water resources in the productive landscape of the Congo Basin, and (iii)Strengthening of the underlying policy, regulatory, institutional framework.
