Greening the COP17 in Durban
Project Summary
Demonstrate South Africa's commitment to reduced greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy sources and ensure a broad climate change awareness by decision-makers and the general public with a focus on showcasing targeted activities under the National Greening Programme and the South Africa - GEF partnership a during the COP17 meeting in Durban 2011. Within the context of COP17, this project will highlight opportunities for countries to take tangible early steps to reduce emissions and adpat to climate change, establish a foundation for development of small and medium entreprises to develop innovative technologies to promote economic development and enhance competitiveness in South Africa and show case low carbon energy technologies and transpotartion systems supported by GEF.
