( This review should be read along with the old review on file for past actions).The project will promote community-based integrated ecosystem management (IEM) of globally significant biodiversity, sequestering of C and avoidance C emissions, and prevent degradation of 4 landscapes selected to represent the four major ecosystems in the country : (1) the Wildlife and Sylvo-pastoral Reserves in the Ferlo Steppe; (2) the Niokolo-Koba National Park and its associated Classified Forests in the South-East Sudanin-Guinean zone; (3) the Niayes coastal dunes and classified reserves along the northern sea front; and (4) the Saloum Delta National Park and associated classified forests and mangrove/marine systems in the south-eastern coastal area.
