The long-term national Goal of the full GEF project is: Consolidating the Protected Areas System as a key component of sustainable development in Costa Rica. The Project Objective is: To overcome the major systemic and institutional barriers to sustainability of the Costa Rican Protected Area System. There are five planned outcomes in support of the project’s stated objective.
