The overall objective is to promote strategic development of the electricity sectors in Pacific Island Countries (PICs) so that sustainable and efficient electricity supply and use leads to reduced GHG emissions and improved energy security and access.The GEF project objective is to facilitate removal of barriers to increased grid-based renewable energy supply and energy efficiency measures required for a secure, sustainable, least cost electricity supply and use.
