Project specific objectives are to assist the Czech Republic to: A. integrate and incorporate biosafety issues into the sectoral policies and strategies, as well as into cross-sectoral policy documents and their updating in line with development and new global commitments. B. amend the national regulatory regime in line with the Cartagena Protocol process, including the new COP/MOP decisions, and to better reflect national needs and priorities. C. improve the national system for handling requests, performing risk assessment, decision making and other administrative tasks. D. consolidate a functional national system for monitoring and enforcement. E. improve and extend a national system of public awareness, access to information, education and participation.
