The objective of the program is to develop and promote a sustainable model for the production and use of Jatropha oil at the national level. The project will contribute to reducing the use of diesel and therefore help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transport and energy production sectors.
It aims at significantly contributing to rural development through the promotion of decentralized Jatropha oil production and through private investments that comply with environmental and social sustainability criteria, in particular to avoid any possible competition between biofuel promotion and food production.
