This add-on results from the break-up of Serbia & Montenegro and the need to increase the originally allocated budget to allow for distinct national processes. The add-on will allow Montenegro to complete the first POPs enabling activities to: i. Develop a comprehensive country-driven National Implementation Plan (NIP) for reduction and elimination of POPs in compliance with the provisions of the Stockholm Convention; ii. Prepare the ground for implementation of the Convention in Montenegro; iii. Achieve a high level of awareness of the POPs issue and sustained ownership of the NIP among all stakeholders; iv. Assist Montenegro in meeting its reporting and other obligations under the Convention; and v. Strengthen the national capacity of Montenegro to manage POPs and chemicals generally.
