Benjamin Singer
As Senior Biodiversity Specialist, Benjamin Singer oversees pipeline development and contributes to the strategic positioning of the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund within the broader landscape of biodiversity finance. In his role, he notably shapes policies and fosters the development of innovative projects supporting both high biodiversity impact and Indigenous Peoples and local communities while deploying the full range of financial instruments available at the Fund.
Mr. Singer holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Cambridge University and a PhD in tropical forest policies at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, France. Prior to the GEF, he worked at the UN Secretariat on environmental and development finance and at the Green Climate Fund on forests, land use, and REDD+.
