A paper published in Conservation Letters, based on a report of the Global Environment Facility’s COVID-19 Task Force, examines the One Health approach emphasizing the interdependence of the health of humans, domestic and wild animals, fungi, plants, microbes, and natural and built ecosystems. It finds that a One Health lens can help address pressing environmental challenges while supporting green, equitable, and inclusive development. Economic and social development depends on a healthy environment, which in turn depends on biological diversity.
