About one quarter of the total CO2 emissions from fuel combustion in Malaysia comes from manufacturing industries. Significant reductions in CO2 emissions can be effectuated by the efficient and rational use of energy in this sector. However, there are a number of barriers that hinder the implementation of energy efficiency and conservation efforts in the Malaysian context. This project aims to reduce such barriers and will contribute to the rational use and improved energy efficiency in Malaysian industries. In particular, capacity-building demonstration incentive schemes will be established to address inadequate information and perceived risk among industrial producers.
