Planet was founded in 2010 to make earth-observing satellites cheaper, smaller, quicker, and more updatable. Today, the company is a publicly traded B Corporation with 1,000 employees, the largest fleet of earth observation satellites, and a commitment to using space to help life on Earth. Planet’s Impact team leads mission-aligned programs for science, biodiversity, forests and land use, climate, disaster response, food security, and ethics. Planet is a member of the World Bank Data Partnership and is building digital public goods in support of the Global Biodiversity Framework and the Paris Agreement.

This presentation described Planet’s programs, products, and partnerships in these realms, and provided an opportunity to discuss future exchanges, alignment, and collaboration. The discussion went into detail about Planet's constellations and analytics (Amy), and provided more information about mission-aligned solutions for forests and land use (Flávia), climate and food security (Melissa), and biodiversity and conservation (Amy).
